don quixote-miguel de cervantes

“In short, our gentleman became so caught up in reading that he spent his nights reading from dusk till dawn and his days reading from sunrise to sunset, and so with too little sleep and too much reading his brains ddid up, causing him to lose his mind.” (21)

as the cat howls, and the avoidance of the upcoming holidaze family drama approaches, i decided that i am not going to finish this book. i was prompted to read it because my favourite 8-year-old told me she was reading it, and i got about a hundred pages in on the subway to and from the lovely gnocchi and crafternoon at the main street cateau.

alas and alack, this was this quarter’s fired book.

at ease, gentleman-though i will continue to reference that cardboard helmet, as i have for the past twenty years of not reading this book.
